Dr. Daniel Amen M.D., is an internationally acclaimed speaker and best-selling author who is well known for his expertise in the field of ADD/ADHD, and SPECT brain imaging.  SPECT stands for Single Photon Emission Computerized Tomography.  This process allows professionals to view brain activity during a variety of scenarios such as resting periods, reading or concentration periods and other activities. 

Dr. Amen specializes in both child and adult psychiatry, and is an Assistant Clinical Professor of Psychiatry and Human Behavior at the University of California, Irvine School of Medicine where he teaches seminars on brain imaging, brain injury, behavioral neuroanatomy, Adult ADD, hypnosis, biofeedback, and the use of supplements in psychiatry.

Trained at Walter Reed Army Medical Center in Washington D.C., he has pioneered the use of brain imaging in clinical psychiatric practice.  Dr. Amen has authored 22 books and is the author of numerous professional and popular articles, which have been published in  Newsweek, Parade Magazine, and Men's Health. He has also won writing and research awards from the American Psychiatric Association, the US Army and the Baltimore-DC Institute for Psychoanalysis.
